Privacy Policy
Cosmic Random Chat has no sign-up and no login. We don’t create an account that identifies you, and we process only the minimum needed to run the service.
What we don’t collect
- Name, email, phone — there’s no registration.
- Precise location, contacts, or address book.
- Camera or microphone — this service is text and emotes only.
What we process
- Birth date & gender — entered to calculate your saju chart. These are stored mainly on your device (browser) to show today’s result and aren’t tied to an account. Other people never see your exact birth date — only the saju result (a summary), and only when you choose to tap “show” during a chat. Because a birth date can identify a person when combined with other data, storing, re-sending, or sharing it without consent is prohibited.
- Chat content — some conversations may be recorded anonymously for service improvement and safety review. These aren’t linked to an identifiable person (there are no accounts).
- Blocking — when you block someone, the minimum needed to prevent rematching for this session is briefly held in server memory. With no accounts there’s no permanent storage or identification, and it’s gone when the session ends. (There is no report intake/handling.)
- Technical data — access and error logs may be kept briefly for stability and abuse prevention.
Browser storage
Language, birth input, and today’s result are kept in your browser’s local storage. Clearing your browser data removes them, and you can also clear them with “Start completely fresh” inside the app.
Third parties & cross-border transfer
We may send requests to an external AI provider to generate reading text, and we use a cloud database to run the service. Analytics may be used for traffic stats without handling personally identifying info. These external services (AI provider, cloud DB, analytics) may run on servers located outside your country, so information can be transferred abroad during processing. What’s transferred is the minimum needed to provide the service — anonymous chat content and access logs — and is never sold or handed to third parties for advertising, recommendation, or affiliate analytics.
Retention
- Info stored on your device (language, birth input, today’s result) — kept only on your device until you clear it.
- Anonymous chat records — kept for 90 days for improvement and safety review, then destroyed.
- Block info — used only to prevent rematching within a session; gone when the session ends (no permanent storage).
- Access / error logs — kept for 30 days for abuse prevention and stability, then auto-deleted.
Children under 14
This service involves anonymous chat with strangers and isn’t directed at children. Eligible age follows the Terms, and we don’t collect personal information from children under 14.
Clearing your data
There are no accounts, so there’s nothing to request. Whatever is kept on your device (language, birth input, today’s result) can be cleared anytime with “Start completely fresh” in the app or by clearing your browser data. Anonymously recorded chats aren’t linked to an identifiable person, so they aren’t subject to individual deletion.
Contact
This is a personal, non-commercial project, so there’s no separate contact channel. If something feels wrong during a chat, use block and leave on the chat screen — both take effect immediately.
